Chapman Freeborn arranges VIP charter for CelebAir's TV Finale!

24th October 2008

Chapman Freeborn Airchartering last week arranged a private jet for the climax of ITV2’s CelebAir, the reality TV show in which 10 celebrities took on roles from check-in clerks to air stewards in a bid to be named the airline’s star employee.

The Gatwick-based air charter specialist provided an Embraer Legacy aircraft for the finale of the series, featuring comedienne Amy Lame and singer Lisa Maffia

For early rounds of the show ITV2 joined forces with Monarch Airlines, with members of the public booking to fly with CelebAir to a host of locations.

As the series took off stars ranging from Tamara Beckwith to Lisa Scott Lee were tested to their limits, handling everything from high-spirited hen parties to frustrated families.

Each week the employees were rated by their own passengers, and celebrities judged to be excess baggage were summarily shown the door.

With Amy Lame and singer Lisa Maffia identified as first class contenders, an extra special challenge was required for the grand finale.  The height of service is not long haul First Class scheduled cabin service but the luxury appointment and demanding passenger as can be found on a private jet!

CelebAir programme makers consulted with Chapman Freeborn who are renowned for flying stars from the worlds of music and movies amongst others.

Chapman Freeborn recommended the luxurious 13-seat Embraer Legacy as the stage for the perfect inflight service challenge...  and chartered this beautiful jet from UK based executive charter operator, Twinjet for a flight to Milan and back.

The aircraft was then, as per it’s big sister in the Monarch fleet, adorned with a special CelebAir livery and the trainee Cabin Attendants were introduced to the challenges of meeting their passengers’ every need.   Lisa and Amy were required to serve up sumptuous cuisine and fine wines to two extra special passengers, David Gest and Vanessa Feltz.

The filming completed last week, and the grand finale episode was screened yesterday Thursday 23rd October with Lisa Maffia declared the victor and winning more than £20,000 for the charity of her choice.

Cecile Monchatre from the aptly named Chapman Freeborn UK VIP team commented; “this project was a great deal of hard work but ultimately, in the spirit of the programme, a lot of fun.  The celebrity Cabin Attendants did really well and as for the celebrity passengers, well they had it easy and they were far less demanding than some of our passengers have been.  Not that we can name names of course!”.  Just another interesting day for Chapman Freeborn!
