Chapman Freeborn delivers Red Cross aid in wake of Haiti storms

18th September 2008

Chapman Freeborn Airchartering has assisted in transporting humanitarian aid to Haiti to help those left homeless by the storms which have battered the Caribbean country.

The charter company's Barcelona office coordinated the movement of over 25 tons of emergency supplies from Madrid to Port-au-Prince, Haiti, on behalf of the Spanish Red Cross.

The flight was operated by Volga-Dnepr Airlines on one of its IL-76 TD-90 Stage IV aircraft.

Across Haiti, up to 800,000 people are said to be in need of support and the logistical side of the relief effort is likely to last weeks, according to aid agencies.
