Chapman Freeborn India in urgent AOG engine movement
9th January 2008
Chapman Freeborn Airchartering’s India office
responded swiftly over the holiday period for the urgent movement of a
three-tonne CFM56 engine for a grounded B737 passenger aircraft at Hyderabad
International Airport, India.
The engine, flown in from Europe on a scheduled
service, was rushed from Delhi to Hyderabad on an IL-76 freighter arranged by
the global charter company.
With Eid and Christmas celebrations already well
underway, Chapman Freeborn’s Delhi office was able to immediately source a
suitable aircraft for the charter and secured the necessary flight permits from
the Indian Ministry of Civil Aviation within just four hours of submitting their
application.
The replacement engine was successfully flown
from DEL to HYD on the 23rd/24th December, and as engineers set to work on the
grounded aircraft the faulty piece was taken back to DEL for repairs. Sanjay
Chand from Chapman Freeborn was on hand to oversee the smooth loading and
offloading of both engines.
Vikramjit S. Ahluwalia, managing director of
Chapman Freeborn in India, said:
"Thanks to the teamwork of Chapman Freeborn, this
was a flawless operation from start to finish.
"Obtaining the permits in record time and
coordinating this challenging engine movement is a testament to the service we
provide our clients."
Last month Chapman Freeborn launched it’s Wings’

situations.
