Chapman Freeborn Turkey Open For Business –
Building A Bridge From Europe to Cental Asia
26th June 2006
Chapman
Freeborn Airchartering is delighted to announce that our newest offices
in Turkey are now open for business and already fixing flights.Formed as
a joint venture with Chapman Freeborn associate Airmark / Airline Marketing
& Services Ltd Sti, CF Turkey already has two locations – the main chartering
office in Istanbul and an operations, repping and supervision office in
Ankara.
In addition, Chapman Freeborn Turkey Flight Support has also been created with personnel in place to manage traffic rights applications, arrange fuelling and handling for both passengers and cargo throughout Turkey.
Istanbul is a key location as a bridge between Europe and Asia, and serves in particular as a strategic cargo hub for Asian-Europe trans-shipments and as such, we can provide ancillary services such as trucking and commercial co-load solutions.
Perfectly placed to further expand all of our cargo chartering operations in the region, CF Turkey will provide a comprehensive range of services including ad hoc cargo charters, and onboard courier service for urgent last minute small cargo shipments.
Previously only local brokers have operated in the Turkish market and Chapman Freeborn’s global presence and infrastructure provides clients in the freight forwarding and logistics communities the reassurance that our experience and expertise leaves them in safe hands. This is particularly true when operating into Central Asia - the so-called"Stan" countries such as Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Afghanistan, Azerbaijan - and the Middle East, including Iraq.
Clients will appreciate the added value of our presence in Turkey in the shape of regular scheduled air cargo services into Iraq and Afghanistan and empty legs between Europe and Asia.
We will also be undertaking further passenger and executive charters, ACMI and subcharter and leasing.
Heading up our new operation is 29 year old Adnan Duran who worked with German General Manager, Stefan Kohlmann to establish the new Turkish office.Adnan will serve as Regional Manager, Turkey & Central Asia. Adnan, a Turkish national who was born in Germany already has many years of experience in the aviation industry including working for Chapman Freeborn in Frankfurt and before that, 6 years with FedEx and 5 years with another broker in Germany.
Adnan comments:"This is a great opportunity for Chapman Freeborn to build further bridges and expand our reach into the Central Asian market which is traditionally a region that is regarded with some caution by customers, operators and brokers alike. The demand is there, and now that we are here, so are the service levels that clients demand."
Adnan will be assisted by Tekin Ertemel. Tekin, 37 previously worked with MNG Airlines for over 9 years as Chief Flight Dispatcher and later Scheduler & Planning Manager. He is Director of CF Associate, Airmark / Airline Marketing & Services and will be General Manager, Chapman Freeborn Airchartering Turkey.
