Chapman Freeborn Appoints Russi Batliwala As Group Cargo Director
17th January 2006
Chapman Freeborn has recently undertaken a planned re-structuring and re-organisation
of our Group.
Over
the past 30 plus years our principal activity has always been cargo aircraft
chartering, and this is the first area we have turned our attention to. However, over the years, we have expanded and diversified our operations
into passenger chartering (both groups and VIP / Executive operations),
aircraft leasing, airline station management and representation.
With this polarization of activities, it has become more and more important
to treat each of these specialities as individual entities. Now in
the age of “Globalisation”, we have to adapt ourselves to make
us stronger, make better use of our resources, provide a better service
to our clients and of course, be more competitive.
It is with this in mind that we have appointed Russi Batliwala to the position
of Group Cargo Director for the entire CF Group, with a remit to take overall
responsibility for this field of endeavour throughout the group.
Russi, 41, has worked with us for nearly 20 years, and currently heads
up our entire German operation. Over the years, Russi has made not
only Germany a major force world-wide as a charter broker, but initiated
our activities in a number of other countries as well, especially in the
USA, the Middle East and Asia. He comments:
“My main aim is to consolidate our group strengths as well as to
continue to expand to meet future growth and increase our global coverage
still further”
Group Chairman, Chris Chapman comments: “Russi possesses enormous
energy and great vision and is a proven asset to our group – as well
as being a popular fellow and a great colleague.”
Russi’s interests away from aviation include sports such as soccer
and the contrasting and calm hobby of looking after exotic fish, as well
as enjoying fine wines – the latter being a passion shared by many
CF colleagues!
