Chapman Freeborn Appoints New Director in Asia
19th October 2005
Chapman Freeborn Airchartering has appointed Michael Roth as Director of
Asian Operations with effect from 1st October 2005.
Michael,
46, has worked with Chapman Freeborn since 1998 and has a proven track record
within the global chartering group, having previously run offices in Stockholm
and Dubai. He will continue to be based in Dubai before moving to
the Asian region later this year.
Group Director Russi Batliwala comments: “This position has been
created to further strengthen the group’s position and develop long
term activities in the region.”
Michael has worked in aviation for many years, starting with freight forwarding
at Amsterdam Schiphol Airport. Since joining Chapman Freeborn, career
highlights have included securing long term aircraft management contracts
for freighters, a cold weather testing operation for a military aircraft
operator in Northernmost Sweden, and being the first man in the group to
visit Baghdad - spotting the opportunity and requirement to set up
an office there which we have now done.
Michael comments: “ I am looking forward to the challenge of developing
further our activities in this exciting region. I also like to travel
a lot and have enjoyed visiting many interesting countries - a habit
I plan to continue.”
