Chapman Freeborn Belgium Charters the
Lufthansa Junkers JU-52 For A Thank-You Pleasure Trip
21st June 2005
On Thursday 9th June 2005, Chapman Freeborn Ostende chartered the unique
Junkers JU-52 which is operated by Lufthansa, for a pleasure trip over the
Belgian coastline and Bruges as a way of showing our appreciation to our
customers for their business and support.
This
amazing tri-prop aircraft was built in 1932 and totally restored in the
1990s and it now operates pleasure trips and ad hoc charters for aviation
history enthusiasts all over Europe.
The day started with a glass of bubbly prior to boarding and for the flight
briefing when the crew explained all about the aircraft and the route they
would be taking and the sights that the passengers would see. Then
followed the 40 mins flight, made perfect by clear weather, ideal conditions
to enjoy the scenery of the Belgian Coastline and the landmarks of the ancient
city of Bruges.
After the flight, we held a barbecue at the airport and a jolly good time
was had by all. Afterwards, all guest were presented with a commemorative
CD-Rom with photos of the spectacular day trip as a memento of the event,
a souvenir of a memorable day which was appreciated by all!
