Chapman Freeborn Amsterdam Celebrates 10th Birthday!

Last Thursday 12th May saw a momentous milestone in the history of Chapman
Freeborn Amsterdam – the office at Schiphol celebrated 10 years of
operation!
The
office employs 12 people in a diverse range of activities including station
management and supervision as well as executive, airline and cargo charter
for all kinds of large, small, precious and unusual shipments. The
station continues to grow and has had a number of memorable achievements
in it’s 10 years. Some of Amsterdam’s most interesting
projects include:
- Organizing a non-stop flight on a Boeing 757 for two of Holland’s
major hospitals for research into Deep Vein Thrombosis
- A six-week round the world trip with a DC8 freighter on behalf of a
Saudi prince
- Flying PSV Eindhoven all around Europe for their last two UEFA Champion’s
League seasons
- Arranging all operational matters such as hotel accommodation, diners,
handling, fuel etc on behalf of an Italian aircraft manufacturer for their
worldwide promotional tours and test-flights in areas of special climate
interest such as the North Pole.
- Leasing helicopters to Aid Organisations in Afghanistan
- Successful station management on behalf of clients Maersk Air, Estonian
Air and Air Transat, culminating in Maersk Air winning the Schiphol Airport
punctuality award for efficient turnaround services with our assistance
- Chartering the first relief flight into Kuwait after the second Gulf
War
- Heavy involvement in major relief airlifts following disasters such
as the Indian and Iraqi Earthquakes, Darfur and of course, the Asian Tsunami
- Repatriating a Swiss Rescue team with search & rescue dogs from
Ahmedabad to Zurich in January 2001. They were helping out post-earthquake
and were then required in Switzerland to respond to an avalanche
All of these are fine examples of the diverse work that Chapman Freeborn
Amsterdam undertakes. There is never a dull moment and the hard-working
team are, like all of CF’s worldwide offices, also dedicated to having
a good time. They celebrated with a great party and a very nice cake….!
