Chapman Freeborn AirChartering Delhi-ighted At First Fruits of Asian Expansion Plan

17th February 2004

It is with great excitement that Chapman Freeborn are delighted to announce further expansion in Asia with the imminent opening of Chapman Freeborn Airchartering PVT Ltd in New Delhi, India from 1st March 2004.

This new operation, enables the group to penetrate and better serve this exciting and fast growing market. India has a population of approx 1 billion people and an annual growth rate of 8% and as such is producing more and more charter possibilities both inward and outward. As we have always been at the forefront of recognising the need to involve ourselves in new markets – we felt this was one that we could not ignore and this move comes as part of a strategy to expand further within the region.

This compliments our office in Singapore and we are currently also in negotiations to set up an office in Beijing, China.

We have appointed Sanjay Chand to be the Executive Director of Sales for the new company. Sanjay has enormous experience in chartering aircraft having worked for several airlines from the former CIS. He speaks fluent Russian, has frequently been involved in chartering all manner of aircraft both Russian built and Western built.

Vikramjit Ahluwalia has been appointed Managing Director of Chapman Freeborn India.

This new office will give us the opportunity to undertake both cargo and passenger charters in the region as well as the obtaining of traffic rights and diplomatic clearances in this sometimes operationally difficult part of the world.

Group Chairman, Chris Chapman says of this new development:

"This new operation in India is a vital part of our expansion plan in the region. We already have a very strong presence throughout Europe and the USA and this further consolidates our position as the largest and most influential air charter broker in the world. This global network of local knowledge, professional staff and most importantly, purchasing power means we are the ideal aviation partner and support organisation for airlines and shippers alike."

When pressed further for a hint as to the likely location of further offices, Chris would only add"Watch this space!"
