Chapman Freeborn USA responds to Chile earthquake
Chapman Freeborn Airchartering's US team has assisted in the effort to get humanitarian supplies to the people affected by the 8.8 magnitude earthquake in Chile.
In the aftermath of the disaster which claimed hundreds of victims, the global aircraft charter specialist's Fort Lauderdale team coordinated flights to transport aid including two water purification units and plastic sheeting.
The time-critical cargo was flown from Miami International Airport (MIA) to Santiago (SCL) on an AN-12 charter and a B767F part charter.
About two million Chileans are believed to have been affected by the earthquake which struck the Bio-Bio province, one of the most powerful on record and the worst disaster in Chile for 50 years.
Chapman Freeborn has 32 offices in 22 countries. The company coordinated more than 5,000 cargo and passenger aircraft charters last year.
