Chapman Freeborn reaches new high in Sunday Times HSBC Top Track 250 list

Chapman Freeborn Airchartering has been ranked 21st in the Sunday Times HSBC Top Track 250 list.

The global aircraft charter specialist climbed 52 places in the annual league table of Britain's biggest mid-market private companies having come in at 73rd in 2010.

Despite tough trading conditions, the Sunday Times praised those companies featured in the report for their ambition and innovation in powering through the economic downturn.

Chapman Freeborn provides aircraft charter and leasing services to a diverse client base including multinational corporations, governments and humanitarian aid agencies, as well as VIPs and prominent figures from the entertainment industry.

The UK-headquartered company - which has a global network of 31 offices in 23 countries - achieved a 32 per cent increase in sales in 2010 with turnover topping £460 million.

This month it opened its newest location in Washington D.C. and it will further expand its coverage with three new international offices set to be unveiled before the end of the year.

Other leading businesses featured in this year's Sunday Times HSBC Top Track 250 list include names such as Manchester United, Aston Martin and Selfridges.

Together, the 250 companies on the list generated turnover of £71.2bn and employ nearly 500,000 people.
