Alex Berry appointed director of Chapman Freeborn’s executive jet division

Chapman Freeborn Airchartering is delighted to announce a new senior appointment.

The global aircraft charter specialist has appointed Alex Berry as Director of Executive Aircraft for its worldwide operations, with responsibility for expanding the company's activity in VIP and corporate markets.

Alex brings with him a wealth of experience in executive aviation. In a career spanning more than 13 years, he has worked in a variety of senior managerial and commercial roles for companies including NetJets Europe, Marquis Jet and Bombardier Skyjet International, where he helped develop their jet card programme.

Alex’s most recent role was Executive Vice President with Austrian based VistaJet (who bought out Skyjet in 2008) where he oversaw sales growth across Europe, the Middle East and the Asia Pacific.

Darren Banham, Passenger Director of the Chapman Freeborn Group, said:

"We are delighted that Alex is bringing his considerable skills and experience to Chapman Freeborn. He adds to our existing strengths with his understanding and knowledge of the executive aircraft market."

The announcement of Alex’s appointment follows last week’s news that Chapman Freeborn has soared 82 places in the Sunday Times HSBC Top Track 250 list.

The global aircraft charter specialist was ranked 73rd in the annual league table of Britain's biggest mid-market private companies having come in at 155th in 2009.

Audited accounts for 2008 revealed a 33 per cent increase in sales with turnover topping £294 million - and the 2009 figures are set to show further significant growth.

Chapman Freeborn was joined in the Sunday Times’ list by household names such as Harrods, Selfridges and Arsenal Football Club.

Chapman Freeborn provides private jet and helicopter charter services to a diverse client base including major corporations, governments and heads of state, as well as high net worth individuals and prominent figures from the entertainment world.

The company has 32 offices in 22 countries worldwide and arranges over 5,000 charters annually.
